How to Make Money Online

First and foremost let me tell you HONESTLY that I make money online but not that big yet. The article which you are about to read is a TRUE STORY and not just any stuff of lies trying to fool people and convince them to buy any products or opt into mailing list.

Okay, a couple of years back, I did not really have idea how on earth I can make money online. There were times I got emails on my spambox telling about how to earn money online.

Well, I did not believe that, earning money online, during those times. What’s on my mind was a hesitation that when I click those links, my computer will be populated with virus.  However,  in contrary,  I was also thinking how come there was internet if there was no business in there. I mean, how will the internet and all these websites still exist until these days if they were not earning money? The answer is certain, they make money online.

Fast forward. I was in my junior year in college when  I noticed  a classmate of mine who always took us to Chowking, a Chinese fast-food restaurant. I could still remember that every after our Surveying class, he treated us there. I was a little bit curious why he had a lot of money. His parent are both working in a government office. Well, if you think about these positions in USA or other countries, you might think they are earning great income. Things aren’t like that in the Philippines. Most professionals working in government offices here don’t earn that big. Not unless if you are having a business.

Back to the topic. He told us the answer why. He was working online as a virtual assistant. I was a little bit hyped because I had a diploma in Computer Science. I asked him how and where he got his job.

After my classes, I went home right away and rented a computer near my aunt’s house, where I was staying in during that time. I searched onlinejobs.ph, posted my resume and applied for jobs.

Just a couple of hours later, someone emailed me asking to work for him for Php 8,000 per month which was around $200 US that time. Wow, I was shocked since I really never expected such an opportunity. Besides, it would be my first time to hold such amount. Pathetic! Yeah, I am poor. I mean I am really really really poor and I am not shy of it. I did not even have my own computer and cellphone that time.

So, moving on, I worked for him. I shared my salary with my aunt and my family then saved the rest. Although at first I felt Php 8k was big enough, I realized afterwards that it really wasn’t that big. So what I did was I applied for another job. I got another job who were paying me Php 12,000 per month. I was really very happy because during that time, that amount was almost the same as working in a government office here in the Philippines – I don’t know how much a regular government employee earns now. Overall, I was earning Php 20, 000 that time. I was able to save a little amount of money so I bought my own computer and cellphone. Yahoo, I was able to buy those items! When I was in my high school years, I was just dreaming of having a typewriter but my God is good all the time. He provided more than what I dreamed of.

After a year of working online, I was thinking of emulating what my employers are doing. They are doing internet marketing, blogging and affiliate marketing. So, I bought a domain and started blogging. I applied for Google Adsense. At first I earned few bucks but later my site was banned by Google Adsense because of a banner towards a bux site. Sigh!

Despite the fact that I failed my first attempt, I never quit. I bought new domains and did blogging again. Luckily, I was able to do it and had the adsense checks rolling in. My stomach flu blog earned about USD 250 per month during the first few months. After about 3 months of earning from adsense, I sold that website for USD 2000.   It was a good decision on my part and bad decision on the buyer’s part because just a month after I sold the website, Google released Panda upate. Later followed with Penguin update. Since the site was backlinked using a blog network, SEONITRO, it was affected and lost its luster and later became invisible on Google search results. I felt for the buyer.

After the updates, I still created some blogs which are still earning few bucks from Google Adsense. Just the other month, I started affiliate marketing too.

So, with respect to what I have learned from working online for over 3 years, below are the ways I have learned on how to make money online.

Make Money Online as a Freelance Article Writer

I know a lot of people working online as writing freelancers. They provide writing services to other bloggers and internet marketers and in return generate a good sum of legit income. One of them is Tom Ewer of Leaving Work Behind. He writes and writes and writes then earns. He is actually posting his online income statement every month.

There is actually a bunch of websites accepting good writers to write for them which pay a minimum of 50 dollars per article. If you think you are good writer then go write for them and start earning tons and tons of money online today.

Well, you may wonder why I am not writing there myself. Hmm, obviously I am not even good in writing. The main factor is language barrier. English is not my primary language so it is really such a big disadvantage. What seems okay to me seems funny and awkward to native speakers as they read my articles. So better write here at my blog. Criticize me the way I write and I would be very happy to hear it. I accept the fact that my English writing skill is not even close to being good.

Make Money Online as a Virtual Assistant

I actually started earning online as a virtual assistant. If you are from the Philippines, India, Pakistan or any other Asian countries then virtual assistance is a good way to start making money online with.

Most western internet marketers love to hire Pilipinos, Filipino is a language subject in the Philippines while Pilipino refers to people of the Philippines,  and Indians because it is alot cheaper to outsource in India or Philippines than to subcontract their business to their local subcontractors.

If you are good in computer then you can start earning today. Knowledge in HTML, WordPress, Php and other applications like MS Office Applications and Google docs is already an edge against other aspiring virtual assistant.

Make Money With Google Adsense

If you already have a blog then applying and making money with Google Adsense is the easiest thing to do to make money online. You just have to generate a code snippet and paste it on your blog then you will earn as your traffic grows.

The only thing there is, you can not earn or make good money with Google Adsense if you don’t have enough visitors or traffic. That is the reason why, you have to do some SEO stuff to get huge traffic.
